A Closer Look: Remembering JFK JR and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy | Cultured Elegance
The cream & periwinkle pinstriped dress of 1870 is a triumph. It appears to be created by a master. It's very difficult to have striped fabric like that always point symmetrically in layers and for a dress of that volume a LOT of work went into it. It's a masterpiece. EDIT: 1868! 1872! Omg the deep violet with black stripe! I really adore the 1880's -1890's style wise. I love the switch from huge puffy mutton sleeves to skintight, and the closer fit of the skirts in front and on the sides, with the bustle in the back! Very flattering to a lady's figure.
What. A. Wonderful. Brilliant. Tast Of. Mrs. Kdnnedy. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful. Wonderful. Bedrom🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks. For. Sharing. This. Beautiful. Video. Mrs. Kennedy Was. An. Impressive. First. Lady.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The library makes me feel extremely claustrophobic.
Love them all. But I’ve always thought the white with the little blue velvet jacket and white hat are wonderful!
Great job! So fun to absorb all the fashion and history. One correction: Sheila Rauch and Joe Jr. were not both 26 when they got married. She was 3-4 years older. And she also challenged the Catholic annulment he petitioned for when they divorced. (She even went to the Vatican to have it reversed! She wasn't Catholic, and was very bitter.) I would love to see film of Patrick Kennedy's wedding (Ted's youngest). He and his wife have a bunch of kids and he's such a great advocate for mental health awareness. Thanks again!
So charming & loving. Yes, President Kennedy wanted to transform America; so unfortunately, he was murdered for it by rogue agents of the CIA. But he will always be remembered for his intelligence & quick wit. RIP JFK, JBK, John & Carolyn. 🙏🏽
I need that 1818 one asap. This is the one of the most beautiful dresses i've seen Edit: im not even at the half of the video and already wanna be a european girl living in südtirol in the 1800s harvesting fruits, taking care of sheep, cows, horses and chicken, planting flowers and owning a bakery
She worked non-stop! Inspirational, truly. At the beginning she did so much of her own work. She is the epitome of talent, brains & beauty.
Her attention to detail is unparalleled. Turkey Hill was my favorite.
You never gave any info on Ted Kennedy’s marriage to Joan. The kids have little historical significance, because at that time all the kids led private lives.
Today, 30 years ago she passed away on 19th of may 1994. tragic
Jackie always took a afternoon nap , that’s why she changed the linen
Сссек Ю..
Can you do season 3 please? I really love these type of videos
Yes I sure need to! I’m sure glad you enjoyed!!
Wow!
Kennedy? Allegri e ridenti coi soldi fatti con il contabbando di alcolici e la sorella lobotomizzata e abbandonata
As a older New yorker Upper east side, I would say during the 80's was the best time for restaurant's of elegance in NY city. The best were Cafe de artistes Le Cote Basque Windows on the world( cellar in the sky ) WTC 21 club Lutece Tavern on the Green The four seasons le Cirque the Rainbow room, champagne brunches Oak room at the Plaza I had eaten at all of them...The young people of today sadly have no Idea of how we lived.......The cellar in the sky was at the top of the world trade center..it was my go to place for a first date...they had a piano player there the bathroom in the men's side had a attendant with a huge 4 tier rolling cart inside the bathroom lounge it had everything you would need for the evening even condoms...of course you tipped him even if you didn't get anything...there were cubby holes along the windows where a couple could sit together on a velvet bench and feel like you where going to fall out ..lol sipping cocktails and watching the sun go down from the floor to ceiling glass on top of the world trade tower was something I will never forget.....girls today are lucky to get a cup of coffee for their dates...lol I believe white russians back in 1985 were $10 a pop there...that was just the start of the date then to a restaurant and maybe a carriage ride through the park.........romance today is just a memory. But I may add...Ladies were very different back then......
And robert's wife was not pretty either I don't know what the hell he saw in her
I never thought jackie was pretty
Cant say that I am very interested in Jackie Kennedy but the reading voice is so musical and beautiful. I am tired of AI vocies, screamers and slurred speech. The color scheme of her bedroom is "serene and calming" 3:44. Well so is your voice. 💐
Thank you very much for appreciating my voice and the fact that our channel does not use AI voice overs!💐🌷
What bothered me the most was that know one knew she was a chain smoker, as anyone can tell you and as a two year smoker myself, your clothes, furniture walls everything stink like cigarettes. Maybe that one reason she changed the sheets in the afternoon, besides having their marital trysts, he would doubly smell bad. But in that era people weren’t as bothered with smoke like today.
Late 1900s early 1910s were probably my favorite
Bed sheets changed twice a day?!? Ummm??
Where was Tatiana Schlossberg, Caroline's daughter?
It’s a beautiful home
The shingles on the roof look like shit. Is nobody maintaining this property?
Was her husband married to the much younger Roxanne Pulitzer? There was a famous scandal early in the 1980s that was totally blown out of proportion.
The art critic and Picasso biographer John Richardson said the Paley's were the only ones to get everything in their various homes exactly right - high praise indeed. All the same, one must ask what was the point when the people they wanted to impress were uniformly ghastly as Truman Capote eventually discovered, though he must have figured that out long before they showed him the proverbial and literal door.
Wonder If Maiesys were there?
Carolyn always reminded me of Princess Diana. Both were beautiful, humble, and private.
Jfk was worst than Clinton. Pigs!!!
Beautiful woman and amazing clothes (I saw the exhibit of them in DC about 15 years ago). Style icon. And she was 31, as I recall, when she walked into the White House.
The blue gown she wore too the saw mill, and got caught in Ashley arms.
A. Very. Culured. Interesting. Family. 🎉🎉 !!!!!
Beautiful dresses, but my favorite year is the Year of the Sweatpants.
John and Jacqueline
My all-time favorite is the white dress she wears at the beginning of the movie.
That footage of the President, his bro Bobby, the AG, and the President's brother in law, Seargent Shriver, exiting Air Force 2 at Hyannis with all their children running toward them to greet them is America. A life of service, and of family. A Rockwell come to life.
i love that movie.
What a beautiful Queen she would have been.
Lisa , your mom is an icon . She captured a lifestyle and esthetic that are timeless . Her clothes evoke an era that was sublime
Im obsessed since childhood. The ascetic is everything.
Gimme a break(ers). That home was not built in just two years. Estates with this kind of square footage and ornamentation don't just come together quickly. Not to mention, the quarrying of the stone, bringing it to the site and crafting it to specific shapes. This is easily a 10-15 year build and probably took longer. Someone is giving you either bad information or is intentionally misleading you Ms Narrator.
Haha! You are probably correct. But according to the written history of the home they say it was built between 1893-1895
Faith, the pair of Louis XV chairs on either side of the 6 foot mirror have shield backs - not “horseshoe backs.” Shield backs harken to the fighting shields which often displayed a soldier’s family crest - so one could interpret them as a nod to “good breeding.” As to the table below the mirror: It is obviously not a bouillotte table (as bouillotte tables are always round and the piece shown is rectilinear), but rather a commode ~ usually referred to as a bombé chest today. It obviously doesn’t have casters, but rather ormolu mounts - those gilded decorations shown. For a better understanding of French furniture, please reference Paris Furniture by the Master Ébénestes authored by Charles Packer and published by R. H. Johns Ltd., 1956.
Hi Jennifer, I can assure you that the information I have provided is 100% accurate. It originates directly from the detailed descriptions given by historians who evaluated each object at Sotheby’s for their auction.
Loved the look of the 1920's.
Tasteful but boring.
Jackie had something you can't buy CLASS & GREAT STYLE
No relaxation there. Way too much.
